Project Title: Dry Etch Process Development
Project Description
This internship project offers hands-on exposure to semiconductor dry etch process development within a manufacturing environment. The intern will participate in structured experimental studies to evaluate opportunities for improving process efficiency, reducing material cost, and minimizing process variation through data-driven analysis.
Project Objectives
Evaluate opportunities for process time reduction, material cost optimization, and process variation reduction through designed experiments
Build foundational knowledge of dry etch process principles and equipment fundamentals
Understand the relationship between key process parameters and product patterning outcomes
Project Scope
Learn the fundamentals of dry etch processes and associated hardware systems
Gain exposure to one dry etch application used in Micron manufacturing
Understand process characterization techniques and how process parameters (process vectors/knobs) influence patterning performance on product wafers
Analyze experimental results to identify improvement opportunities aligned with project objectives
Deliverables
Optimization proposal for an existing dry etch process with measurable improvements in process time, cost, and/or variation
Technical presentation summarizing experimental approach, analysis, and key findings
Learning Opportunities
Exposure to semiconductor process development methodologies in a manufacturing environment
Application of engineering fundamentals to real-world process challenges
Development of technical analysis, documentation, and presentation skills
Impact of Project
The project will contribute to improved process efficiency, cost effectiveness, and process stability, supporting manufacturing performance and technology development goals.

An ideal candidate should be pursuing a degree in a relevant discipline such as Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
